Quizlet Q-Chat

Quizlet's Socratic AI tutor for flashcard-based revision.

About

Quizlet Q-Chat is, or was, Quizlet's AI tutor: a conversational study assistant that used guiding questions about a learner's own flashcard sets to encourage recall rather than passive memorisation. Quizlet itself remains a large flashcard and study platform, but Q-Chat's current availability is uncertain, so verify it is offered before choosing Quizlet for this feature.

Key features

• Flashcard creation and a large library of community study sets
• Learn, Test, Match and other gamified study modes
• Spaced repetition and personalised practice from your own material
• Magic Notes for turning uploaded notes into flashcards
• Q-Chat AI tutor using guiding questions on your study sets, where available
• Offline access and ad-free study on Quizlet Plus
• Classroom tools and progress tracking on teacher plans

Pricing

Pricing is not listed here, because it could not be verified from an official source at the time of writing.

Pricing could not be verified against the official upgrade page at the time of writing, which was not accessible for checking, and multiple 2026 sources report Quizlet Plus at $7.99 a month or $35.99 a year. Q-Chat itself was reported discontinued in June 2025 by independent sources, but that could not be confirmed on Quizlet's own site — verify both price and Q-Chat availability before paying.

Best for

Students revising with flashcards who want an AI tutor tied to their own study sets.

Limitations to know

Quizlet Q-Chat is a study aid, not a replacement for teachers or official marking, and AI explanations can be wrong, so check important material against course sources. Q-Chat was also reported discontinued in June 2025, and that report could not be confirmed on Quizlet's own site, so treat Q-Chat as unverified availability rather than a guaranteed feature.

• Socratic Q-Chat style encouraging recall rather than copying answers, where available

What users complain about

• Features that were once free moving behind the Plus paywall
• Daily caps on free study modes frustrating regular users
• Uncertainty over whether Q-Chat is still available at all
