Khroma
AI colour palettes trained on your own taste.
About
Khroma is a free AI colour tool that learns your taste from the colours you pick, then generates an endless feed of palette combinations matched to those preferences. Palettes can be previewed as typography, gradients, images or swatches, searched and filtered, and saved with colour names, hex and RGB values, CSS code and accessibility ratings.
Key features
- Personal AI trained by choosing colours you like and blocking ones you do not
- Endless generated palette combinations matched to your taste
- Previews as typography, gradients, palettes and custom images
- Search and filtering by hue, tint, value, hex and RGB values
- Saved library of favourite combinations for later reference
- Colour names, hex codes, RGB values and CSS code for each palette
- Accessibility ratings for colour pairs to support readable design
Pricing
Free, with no paid tiers
Khroma is published as a free tool with no paid tiers; check the official site if that ever changes.
Best for
Designers and brand builders looking for fast, personalised colour inspiration.
Limitations to know
Khroma is an inspiration tool, not a full design app, so palettes still need human review in their real context, and accessibility ratings for a pair do not guarantee a whole interface is accessible. It is browser-based, so it needs an internet connection.
What users like
- Completely free with no account or payment barrier
- Personalised palettes that feel closer to individual taste than random generators
- Fast way to explore many combinations and copy exact values
What users complain about
- Limited to colour inspiration rather than a complete design workflow
- Browser-based use, so no offline mode
- Palettes still needing checks in their real design context
Our editorial score
