About this tool
Type in your letters and this tool finds every word that can be built from them, grouped longest first. Use ? for a blank tile, up to two of them, and each ? can stand for any single letter. This is different from an anagram checker: an anagram checker compares two words to see if they use the same letters, while this unscrambler searches for all the words your letters can make. Results come from a built-in starter word list, not a full dictionary — rarer words may be missing, and that limit is stated in the results too.
Frequently asked questions
How does the ? blank tile work?
Each ? stands for any single letter, so a?ple can make apple as well as words where ? stands for another letter. You may use up to two ? tiles.
Why is a word I expected not listed?
This tool searches a starter word list, not a full dictionary, so rarer words may be missing. The results say so plainly rather than pretending the list is complete.
