Wordle Game: Guess the Five-Letter Word
Wordle is a game of narrowing down: every guess teaches you something, even the wrong letters. Use the colours to home in on the word.
What is the Wordle Game?
Pick a secret word, then type a five-letter guess. Each letter is marked correct (right letter, right place), present (right letter, wrong place), or absent. You play by entering guesses one at a time in the form. In the browser, your guess is also shown as coloured tiles below the result.
How to use it
- Pick a secret word.
- Type a five-letter guess.
- Click Check Guess and use the colour feedback for your next guess.
Worked example
Guessing CRATE against the secret CRANE gives green, green, green, grey, green: C, R, and A are correct and in place, T is absent, and E is correct.
What do the colours mean?
Green means the right letter in the right place, yellow means the letter is in the word but in a different spot, and grey means it is not in the word.

How is this different from a Wordle solver?
A solver finds answers for you. This is the game itself: you make the guesses and read the feedback.
Can I play with a different secret word?
Yes. Choose another secret word from the list and start guessing again.
