Window Glass Area: A Simple Measure With Many Uses
Glass area feeds into film orders, cleaning quotes, and heat-loss guesses. This post shows the per-window multiplication.
What is the Window Glass Area Calculator?
Enter the width and height of one window and how many windows share that size, and the tool gives the glass area per window and the total. It is a handy figure for ordering film, estimating cleaning, or comparing glazing quotes.
How to use it
- Measure one window's width and height in metres.
- Enter how many windows share that size.
- Click Calculate Glass Area.
Worked example
Windows 1.2 m by 1.5 m have 1.8 sq m of glass each, or 7.2 sq m across 4 windows.
Should I measure the frame too?
For glass area, no. Measure the glazed area only; frame size matters separately for replacement frames.
Frequently asked questions
What if windows differ in size?
Run the tool once per size and add the totals together.
Is this the same as glazing area for quotes?
