How to Run a Fair Random Spin
A fair spin needs a clean entry list and a uniform random choice. This guide explains both and why repeats are normal.
What is the Spin the Wheel?
Choosing by wheel is fairer than choosing by habit, and faster than debating. Enter names, prizes, or options separated by commas, spin, and the tool returns one random pick plus the number of entries it chose from. Every entry has the same chance on every spin.
How to use it
- Type your entries separated by commas.
- Click Spin the Wheel.
- Read the picked entry and the entry count.
- Spin again for a fresh random pick.
Worked example
For Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow, the tool picks one of the four entries and reports an entry count of 4.
Does spinning again change the odds?
No. Each spin picks from the full list again, so earlier results do not make any entry due or overdue.
Frequently asked questions
Is every entry equally likely?
Yes. The pick uses a uniform random index across the entry list.
Can the same entry win twice in a row?
Yes. Each spin is independent, so repeats are possible.
