Sightseeing Planner: Visits Plus the Travel Between Them

Itineraries fail when travel time is forgotten. Adding visit minutes and gaps between sights gives a day length you can trust.

What is the Sightseeing Time Planner?

A sightseeing day is visits plus the travel between them. This planner adds sight minutes and inter-sight travel to give a realistic day length, so you can tell whether the itinerary fits before you start. Add meals and rest on top of the total.

How to use it

  1. Enter the number of sights.
  2. Enter minutes per sight.
  3. Enter travel minutes between sights and click Plan My Day.

Worked example

5 sights at 60 minutes each give 300 visit minutes plus 80 travel minutes, for 380 minutes or 6 hours 20 minutes.

How long does a day of 5 sights at 60 minutes each take with 20 minutes between them?

6 hours 20 minutes: 300 minutes visiting plus 80 minutes travelling.

Frequently asked questions

Should I add meal time?

Yes. This total covers sights and travel only, so add lunch, breaks, and queues separately.

What if sights are far apart?

Increase the between-sight travel figure. A city-centre walk and a cross-town bus ride are very different gaps.
