How to Turn an Hourly Rate Into Annual Pay

An hourly rate is hard to compare with a salary until you scale it up. This guide shows the weekly, monthly, and annual conversions.

What is the Paycheck Calculator?

This tool multiplies the hourly rate by weekly hours to get weekly pay. Multiplying weekly pay by 52 gives annual pay, and dividing annual pay by 12 gives monthly pay. These are gross figures before any deductions, useful for comparing jobs and budgeting.

How to use it

  1. Enter your hourly pay rate.
  2. Enter the hours you work each week.
  3. Read your weekly, monthly, and annual gross pay.

Worked example

Rate 25, 40 hours per week: weekly 1,000, annual 52,000, monthly 4,333.33.

What is the annual pay for 25 per hour at 40 hours a week?

The annual pay is 52,000. Weekly pay is 25 times 40, which is 1,000, and 1,000 times 52 weeks is 52,000. Monthly pay is 52,000 divided by 12, which is 4,333.33.
