Online Stopwatch: Count Up to Your Target

A stopwatch counts up, not down. Set a target so you know when to stop, then let the live timer count while you work, run, or cook.

What is the Online Stopwatch?

Enter a label and a target time in seconds, and the tool shows the target and a tick list every ten seconds up to it. In the browser, a live stopwatch counts up from zero while the page stays open, with start and stop buttons below the result.

How to use it

  1. Give the stopwatch a label.
  2. Set a target time in seconds.
  3. Click Start Stopwatch; in the browser, use Start and Stop to count.

Worked example

With a 60-second target, the tick list marks 0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, and 60 seconds, and the live timer counts up to the same target.

Does the stopwatch keep running if I close the page?

No. It counts only while the page stays open, so use a phone timer for anything you cannot watch.

Frequently asked questions

What is the tick list for?

It shows the ten-second marks up to your target, so you can follow the count even without the live timer.

Can I stop and restart?

Yes. In the browser, Stop pauses the count and Start resumes it from where it stopped.
