Morse Code Audio Generator: Dots, Dashes, and Beeps

Morse code is simple, visual, and audible at once. This generator gives you all three views of the same message.

What is the Morse Code Audio Generator?

Morse code replaces letters with short and long signals, and this tool shows that translation alongside the sound. Type a message to see its dots and dashes, with slashes marking word gaps, and in a browser the same pattern plays as Web Audio beeps at your chosen speed. Outside a browser, the Morse string itself is still produced in full, so the conversion never depends on audio.

How to use it

  1. Type the message you want in Morse code.
  2. Set the beep speed if you plan to play it in a browser.
  3. Click Generate Morse.
  4. Read the dots and dashes, or listen to the beeps.

Worked example

Converting SOS gives ... --- ...

What is SOS in Morse code?

It is dot dot dot, dash dash dash, dot dot dot, written as ... --- ..., with spaces between the three letters.

Frequently asked questions

What does a slash mean in the output?

A slash marks the gap between words, while spaces separate the letters inside a word.

Why is there no audio in some environments?

Audio needs a browser with Web Audio available. The Morse string is still shown in full without it.
