Laminate Packs: Why the Last Pack Matters
Running one pack short mid-lay is a common frustration. A cutting allowance plus rounding up keeps the job moving.
What is the Laminate Flooring Calculator?
Enter the room area and the coverage of one pack, and the tool adds a 10 percent cutting allowance before rounding up to whole packs. The allowance covers end cuts, awkward corners, and a spare plank or two, and it is shown separately from the exact need.
How to use it
- Measure the room area in square metres.
- Enter the coverage of one pack.
- Click Calculate Packs.
Worked example
20 sq m at 2.5 sq m per pack needs 8 packs exactly, or 8.8 with waste, rounded up to 9 packs.
Is 10 percent enough for diagonal laying?
Diagonal or herringbone patterns waste more, so allow 15 percent or more for those layouts.
Frequently asked questions
