Interval Timer: Work, Rest, Repeat
Intervals work because the rest is part of the plan, not a failure. Lay out the rounds first, then follow the timer without deciding anything mid-session.
What is the Interval Timer?
Enter a work length, a rest length, and a number of rounds, and the tool lays out every round with its total session time. In the browser, a live timer walks through the rounds while the page stays open. Total time is rounds times work, plus rest between rounds only — there is no rest after the final round.
How to use it
- Set the work seconds per round.
- Set the rest seconds between rounds.
- Choose the rounds and click Start Interval Plan.
Worked example
With 30 seconds of work, 10 seconds of rest, and 4 rounds, total time is 150 seconds: 120 seconds of work plus 30 seconds of rest between rounds.
Why is there no rest after the last round?
Because the session is over. Rest after the final round would only pad the total without adding training.
Frequently asked questions
Does the live timer work if I close the page?
No. It runs only while the page stays open.
Can rest be zero?
Yes. Zero rest gives a continuous session of back-to-back work rounds.
