Grocery List Maker: Shop by Section, Not by Memory
A list in the order you remembered things is a list that sends you back across the store. Grouping by section is the simplest fix there is.
What is the Grocery List Maker?
Paste your items one per line, and the tool removes duplicates, sorts them into store sections such as produce, dairy, and pantry, and prints a checklist you can tick off as you shop. Grouping by section means fewer trips back across the store, and the count at the top keeps the list honest.
How to use it
- Paste your items, one per line.
- Click Make My Grocery List.
- Shop section by section and tick items off as you go.
Worked example
Milk, apples, bread, chicken thighs, spinach, and rice become a 6-item checklist grouped into produce, dairy, bakery, meat, and pantry.
How are my items grouped?
Each item is matched to a section by keyword, such as apples to produce and milk to dairy, with anything unmatched placed under Other.
Frequently asked questions
Does it remove duplicates?
Yes. The same item written twice, in any capitalisation, appears only once.
What if an item does not match a section?
It goes under Other at the end, so nothing is lost from your list.
