Flashcard Maker: Turn Notes Into Self-Test Cards
Reading notes feels productive and tests nothing. Flashcards force recall: question first, answer second, honest gap in between.
What is the Flashcard Maker?
Type one term and its definition per line, separated by a colon, and the maker formats them as numbered flashcards with a question side and an answer side. In the browser you can read the question, try to recall the answer, then read the answer side; the plain card list also works as a printable revision sheet.
How to use it
- Type one card per line as Term: Definition.
- Keep definitions short enough to recall in one breath.
- Click Make Flashcards.
- Cover the answer, recall it, then check yourself.
Worked example
Two lines produce 2 flashcards, with Photosynthesis and Mitochondria as the question sides and their definitions as the answers.
How do I make flashcards from my notes?
Write each term and its short definition on one line separated by a colon, then format them as numbered question-and-answer cards.
Frequently asked questions
How should I use the cards?
Read the question, say the answer aloud, then check the answer side before moving to the next card.
How many cards can I make at once?
As many lines as you enter; short sets of 10 to 20 cards are easier to review in one sitting.
