DJ Set Planner: How Many Tracks Fill Your Slot?

A set list is not complete until it fills the time. This planner counts the tracks your slot actually holds.

What is the DJ Set Planner?

A DJ set is a fixed window, and track choice is easier once you know how many slots that window holds. Enter the set length, average track length, and transition time, and this tool counts the tracks and totals the planned time.

How to use it

  1. Enter your values in the fields provided.
  2. Click Plan My DJ Set.
  3. Read the result and adjust an input if you want a different outcome.

Worked example

A 60-minute set with 5-minute tracks and 30-second overlaps needs 14 tracks at 4.5 effective minutes each.

How many tracks fill a 60-minute set at 5 minutes each with 30-second overlaps?

Each track effectively takes 4.5 minutes after the overlap, so 60 divided by 4.5 rounds up to 14 tracks.

Frequently asked questions

What do I enter to get a result?

Fill in every field with your own numbers or choices, then run the tool. Empty number fields count as zero, so check them before you trust the output.

Can I reuse this result elsewhere?

Yes. The result is calculated in your browser from the values you entered, so you can copy the numbers into your own notes or plan.
