Audio Trimmer: Keep Only the Seconds You Need
Long recordings often contain one useful section. Trimming keeps that section and drops the rest.
What is the Audio Trimmer?
Audio Trimmer cuts a section out of a longer recording without needing desktop editing software. In a browser it decodes the audio with Web Audio, slices the samples between your start and end seconds, and encodes the clip as WAV for download. Outside a browser it shows the trim maths instead, so you can still check exactly how long the resulting clip will be.
How to use it
- Enter the original audio length and the start and end seconds you want to keep.
- Check the resulting clip length.
- In a browser, upload the audio and download the trimmed WAV clip.
Worked example
A 120s file trimmed 10s-30s gives a 20s clip, which the tool confirms before any browser encoding.
How long is a clip trimmed from 10 to 30 seconds?
Twenty seconds: the end minus the start, regardless of the original file length.
Frequently asked questions
Can I trim from the middle of a file?
Yes. Any start and end pair works, as long as the end is later than the start and inside the file.
What format is the trimmed clip?
WAV, encoded in the browser from the decoded audio.
